3 iPhone 4 work with iPhone 3

Hi was wondering if the micro sim in the 3 iPhone would work in an older iPhone 3 that was with vodafone network. I know you can get the plastic adaptor so the sim will fit here but does anyone know if the 3 sim will work thks

A micro sim that is placed into a normal sim adapter will work with any phone.
