Yes we can. The Nokia N97 has the latest type of security called SL3, this security type has been out the best part of a year and only in the last 2/3 weeks has it been possible to unlock them.

What are the SL3 models?

SL3 is the newest simlock revision of Nokia. It's implemented in all newly manufactured Nokia phones. Among those, all but the lowest end falls into the BB5 SL3 category.


There are two classes of SL3 models in BB5:

Models that have been retro-fitted with SL3. You can recognize them by their unusual firmware version: V58.xx, V59.xx. Examples:

5310
6500
6300

Models that are newly released in 2009. Examples:

N97
5130
5630

We will be able to unlock the handset for you in our shop in a week or two, or if you can't wait, we can send your phone to the UK were the current solution is, postage turnaround time is one week.

Nokia N97 unlock is €60, but as a original Phonexpo.ie forum customer you will receive a 25% discount, more info in our Pricing & Discounts (http://www.mobilephonesolutions.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=32) thread.

Please note:

The €60 quoted is a guide price, we don't know yet how much it will cost us for the equipment and logs, but going from the prices from last year when we were unlocking the Nokia SL2 types (3120c, 3555, 3555b, 5310, 5310b, 5610, 5610d, 6267, 6263, 6300i, 6301, 6500s, 6500c, 6555, 7500, 7900, 8800 Arte.), this was the price at the start, so the price will go down. €380 is a excellent price for this handset. I wonder if O2 will do what they did when they released their first batch of Nokia 5800s' were they came sim-free out of the box :)

Welcome to the new forum ;)

There is currently no unlock solution for the SL3 models here in Ireland. We would need to post it to our partner in the UK for them to unlock it.

The reason is because the developers of the unlocking device for SL3 will not sell it, but they have service centers around the world and our nearest is in the UK.

So if you need one unlocked I'll have to send it to the UK for you.

PayPal, bank transfer, cheque, postal order in euro, euro draft or cash by post (at your own risk). If paying by cheque please allow up to 5 working days for cheque clearance.

If you choose PayPal, I can invoice you when your phone is ready to be posted back to you, so no need to pay up front first.

Unfortunately there is not enough business for unlocking SL3 security phones here in Ireland for the service to be available here, therefore we have to send Nokia SL3 security phones to the UK.

Yes, we can unlock the Nokia N97 Mini from any network. The procedure and price is the same as the Nokia N97.

also, a favour but would you change the product code ! (i had an n96 and had to debrand it because it was like a brick thanks to whatever block there was on the firmware (which just wouldnt update making the thing imposssibly slow to use

hi there great to see that the unlocking service is in ireland. i will prob need to get a nokia n97 unlocked in a week or so. just woundering i see from thr forum that u also debrand phones, not really sur what this is. can you tell me what the advantages and disadvantages are when doing this.
one more thing just woundering if i posted the phone of to ye what would be the return period on it and could you send it to a different address than on my paypal account as i spend most of the week in limerick.

You can only send payments via email addresses using Paypal, so it would have to be our email address and not our website address.

Can you not follow the instructions from the Paypal invoice?

The email we sent you contains a link underneath the following text;
