Hi Patrick. Can't see any thread on this so am just making an enquiry. I have a new iPhone 3GS 16GB. I unfortunately got some liquid into it. I managed to open the phone, drained out all of the moisture etc and it now works perfectly with no traces of moisture. However, I cannot get the earpiece or the distance sensor to work. I've tried several times to make sure that the number 3 ribbon is secured but I fear that the problem lies there. Would you be able to repair this please? I imagine that the warranty will be voided as I have opened the device. Basically I can use it for everything except a phone, tho I can use it with headphones / earphones etc. It's only the built in earpiece that wont work.

I've tried inserting / removing earphone jack several times, as some forums recommend this as the iPhone may not read the earpiece correctly if the jack was removed suddenly. I've also restored the phone software and firmware.

I hope to be in the area tomorrow.

Thanks,

Tom.

Hi Tom,

It's impossible to say if we can repair it or not without actually examining the phone. Pop-in any time and we'll take a look at it for you.
