Please check this thread often, as it will updated on occasion. We accept no excuses for not reading the rules, the rules are in place to make it fair to all members. If you have an issue with the rules or a question about the rules, please query it in the Forum/Site Discussion/Feedback (http://www.mobilephonesolutions.ie/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2) forum.
Advice on using these forums and how to post your ad properly;
Give as much detail as possible about the item as you can, ie condition, age etc. Post your location so potential buyers/sellers know where you are. Pictuers are very important, add them if possible. Any extra info you can give about your item will help your ad.
The Rules:
NO posting of PHONE NUMBERS, or E-MAIL ADDRESSES.
• Self explanatory.
STANDARD BUYING/SELLING PROCEDURE
• You must list an asking price.
• The first person to offer asking price clearly on the thread secures the item.
• If a seller wishes to accept an offer, he/she must do so clearly on the thread, before PMing the buyer to arrange the deal.
• If the seller at any time agrees to sell for lower than the original asking price, (or lowers his/her asking price on thread), this becomes the new asking price.
• If asking price has already been offered by a buyer, other buyers may continue to post offers, on the off-chance that the first buyer pulls out. Their offers must be considered in the order that they are made.
• Do not offer above asking price in attempt to skip the queue; this will result in an infraction/ban.
• Sellers, when the item has been sold, please state this on the thread.
• Sellers, if you know that you will be away for some time (holiday etc.), leave a message explaining your absence.
NO OFF-THREAD/ADVERT dealing.
Off-thread dealing is defined as: any conversation between the buyer/seller that does not occur on the thread, prior to a deal being clearly agreed.
This includes exchanging phone numbers, private messages (PMs), e-mails, etc. This rule is there to protect the buyer and seller, and to provide transparency and fairness to all parties interested in making an offer on the item. Off-thread dealing will result in an infraction and/or banning. Obviously once a deal has been agreed on the thread, the buyer & seller may contact either other via PM.
Advertising Elsewhere.
If you have an advert for your item placed elsewhere, it must not create any conflicts with your advert here:
• Do not announce that you have a 'higher offer elsewhere'; this is considered shilling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill) or creating false interest and will result in a ban.
• Do not reply that you are 'waiting to hear back on another offer elsewhere'. This is considered unfair on interested buyers (and a waste of their time) and may result in an infraction/ban.
• If the item is no longer available for any reason, please update the status immediately. This is only fair to all users, so that they are not making offers on something that is not available.
NO ABUSE/INSULTS.
Self explanatory. Insults or personal abuse towards any user/moderator will lead to an instant ban, no exceptions.
BUMPING (replying just to move your advert onto the front page).
One bump a week will be allowed. More frequent bumping - every day, 2 days, 3 days, etc. may lead to an infraction and/or ban.
NO DISCUSSION or THREAD-SPOILING.
This is not a discussion forum.
• Do not post on an advert unless you are the seller or an interested buyer. Posting 'Ooh, that is a nice computer, wish I had the money' will result in an infraction/ban.
• Do not post 'this item can be bought for €100 elsewhere'. This may result in an infraction/ban.
• If you see rule-breaking in a thread, do not comment on the thread, use the http://www.mobilephonesolutions.ie/forum/techforums/buttons/report.gif button.
• Occasionally, moderators will post reminders or warnings on-thread. Do not argue or comment, if you wish to do so, use the Forum/Site Discussion/Feedback (http://www.mobilephonesolutions.ie/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2) Forum.
REPORTING RULE BREAKS:
If you see any rules being broken by either the buyers or the seller, or if any mediation is required by moderators, you may click on the http://www.mobilephonesolutions.ie/forum/techforums/buttons/report.gif button in the user options. If your advert has disappeared, it may mean that:
• You have a technical problem,
• Your advert has been removed, or
• You have been banned (temporarily or permanently)
To discuss any of these issues, please post a thread in the Forum/Site Discussion/Feedback (http://www.mobilephonesolutions.ie/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2) forum. If it is a technical issue, you will receive assistance, and if it is a case that you have been banned, you can request an explanation/discussion, or appeal the action in a fair and open manner.
Warnings/Infractions/Bans
You will be notified of these via PM:
• A warning carries no penalty. However, if you break the same rule again, it will be noted that you have ignored the warning and a more serious penalty will be given.
• An infraction carries 1-point, which expires in 10 days. If you accumulate a large number of points concurrently, your access to for sale section will be removed. It may be temporary, or permanent, depending on the situation.
Do not PM the moderator in relation to infractions/bans issued. You may discuss any warning/infraction/ban in the Forum/Site Discussion/Feedback (http://www.mobilephonesolutions.ie/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2) forum. This allows for open and fair discussion of the issue, which is preferable to a private conversation via PM.
