unwanted xmas gift is meteor unpgradepack but quite like the phone and dont want to offend giver (elderly) didnt understand! any way to unlock to use on other network has never been used just charged and incorrect network sim card tried by mistake?

will unlocking the phone get rid of all the meteor pop logos and pics when it starts and turns on and off? is kinda creepy!! i was looking at price list what is debranding? would that get rid of meteor stuuf from phone leave it blank to start fresh?

phone only worth 80euro and i would have to include postage assume would have to register so how much would it all cost me is it worth it at all?

No, unlocking doesn't de-brand it, de-branding does that :D... See "Our Services Explained (http://www.mobilephonesolutions.ie/forum/showthread.php?3-Our-Services-Explained)".

De-branding is an extra €10 with unlock.

How you send the phone to us is entirely up to you.

Total for this service (unlock & de-brand) including your member discount would be €19.00.

im afraid i am a bit techno green, definately want to sort out my little phone but dont really understand all the options , which ones i need to fill/ ask for on your form and as i will be dealing by post im nowhere near dublin when you post it back how will it be packaged? will it be traceable dnt want to lose it in great An Post System!!!

havebeen googling around a bit (dangerous I know!) lots of different advice warnings re what to do/not do some sites say you only have 3 chances to unlock then phone useless?

basically my dream would be to have the phone completely reset back to its original factory settings as if it had been a sim free purchased phone, thats what the person who got it for me thought they were buying!

it is at present a meteor upgrade phone so it has all the pics and promos for meteor built in etc, would love to get rid of all these!

i dont understand about firmware/software and all that?? sorry i have updated phones in the past but it was straightforward as i had purchased the phone myself so had all info codes etc i needed

would like to be able to do the same with this phone and hopefully be able to keep it updated myself in future

so anyway after all that rambling get to the point you say! what options should I fill in/asfor on the form when i send it to you, roughly how long will it take and how much will it cost, phone is only worth about 80Euro so obviously i dont want to pay a huge amount only what is in proportion to its value?

Also asreguardsthe business i read about only having three chances is this true? if you try three times and fail would the handset be left useless and unusable? and would I still have to pay?

sorry for such a long boring post but as i say im totally green to all this and would really appreciate the help! whatever you recommend i will go with! maybe you will say its not possible at all or i should just quit before i start!!!!!

Ok let me clarify it for you very simply, the service you require, we can offer.

As I already said "Total for this service (unlock & de-brand) including your member discount would be €19.00".

Regarding your question about postage, the answer to this is found on the Service Submitting Form;


•If the total of the service you require is less than €30, we will return your phone by standard post to the UK & Rep of Ireland for free. If you require Registered or Express post, please add €7 to the total.
•If the total of the service you require is more than €30, we will return your phone by Registered or Express post to the UK & Rep of Ireland for free. Registered post within Ireland normally takes 1-3 days.
•For shipping cost outside the UK & Rep of Ireland please contact us.
•Prices for unlocking vary depending on model, so please contact us for the latest prices.
•If paying by cheque please allow up to 5 working days for cheque clearance.
•Failure to include this form and correct payment may result in a delay of unlocking and returning your phone.
•Do not send your sim card, memory card, box, charger etc with your phone, as we do not need them.
•We do not unbar, unblock mobile phones or change IMEI numbers.

Have been trying to make contact with you all day by phone at both landline and mobile, even sent cheeky text sorry!

Just a little worried as I posted off my phone to you by registered post and it was down for dilivery yesterday but when I track n trace it does not say it was delivered? an post told me postman might have not handed in a gun or some rubbish like that!!

Just wondering if you got it ok? If youdid and have had a chance to look at it , have you any idea if you can fix it up for me also i want to get a memory card for if from you as well before you send it back if it all works out!

please let me know if you got the phone as soon as you can, am panicking its lost somewhere!
